  • - When you are walking behind somebody, and that somebody looks like they are having a conversation, but there is no one else around, do you think that person is crazy, or do you assume they are on a blutooth device using their cellphone? Nowadays, the first extinct for me is to assume that person is on their blutooth. I had that reaction recently, and it reminded me that years ago the first thing to pop in my head was that “this person must be crazy.” How times have changed.

    - You know what hasn’t changed though? The fact that there are still people out there who still do not wash their hands after using a public restroom! Seriously now. C’mon people, it’s just more sanitary to do that, and it’s just common decency to the public. Don’t people realize the “splatter effect” that those urinals or toilet bowl makes, that the naked eye does not see? You may not think you got any of that toilet water splashed on you, and you’d be wrong.

    - Now one other thing that has changed? Firefox. The best web browser out there has just been upgraded. Firefox 3.5 has now been released, and supports “open video.” Websites are not going to need to rely on flash or quicktime to show video on a web browser, if they take advantage of this open video thing. Get Firefox 3.5 here… http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.5/releasenotes/

    - …and another thing that hasn’t changed. How awesome Bruce Lee is as a martial artist. I just saw bits and pieces of “Way of the Dragon” recently, and that man really was a pioneering legend of fighting. If you compare the action scenes to the mix martial arts of today, Bruce Lee demonstrated take downs, grappling, ground and pound, and of course his stand up game. This was the movie most famous for the fact that he fought Chuck Norris in it. You can watch that sequence here… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtZNvK3fTlM

  • yeah, i heard about guys who don’t wash their hands after using the restroom. my sis told me that there’s this one restaurant with a two way mirror in the bathroom. so i guess girls can see the guys when they’re at the sinks? anyways, tons of guys didn’t wash their hands.

the history channel did a documentary on bruce lee that was pretty interesting. i didn’t watch the whole thing, but apparently people credit him with pioneering some of the mma moves we see today.

  • 1) What?  You mean bluetooth users aren’t crazy?
    2) As nasty as it sounds, unless you have a kidney or bladder infection, urine is fairly safe.  Now the toilet… that’s a different matter.  What’s even more fun is that door handles have more bacteria than a toilet/urinal, but you’re not washing your hands after every time you open a door are you?
    3) FF has been awesome for a while.  The rest of the world is just catching up.
    4) Yeah BL is awesome.  But MMA isn’t the same thing and can’t be compared.  There’s beauty in the economy of motion of someone that has really practiced for years and knows what they are doing in a traditional martial art.  However, the MMA guys are impressive in their stamina and ability to take punishment under stress (not quite for me however since I’m mainly interested in the art aspect).  My personal fav lately is this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYfy3AM-lSQ&feature=channel

    - I try to use a paper towel to open the restroom door when possible, back I’d rather kick it open with my foot, or elbow. Door knobs are definitely up there in least sanitary everyday things people touch
    - lol. Love that video

  • @patrick005 - Your elbow?  but you never wash your elbow except in a bath or shower.  Imagine hanging out all day with all that fun staph on your elbow.

I actually have a small bottle of alcohol.

BTW, movie martial arts is usually done half speed to make it look impressive.  At full speed, you just see a blur.  BL understood this and that’s why he’s always looked good even decades later.  If you check out the knife guy he does all the sequences at half speed as well.  Full speed’s really fun though but impossible for an audience to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bJCKEXjkuc
