  • I was listening to the radio and the song "Angels" by Robbie Williams
was playing, but wait...that's not Robbie Williams singing, it's a
girl! I asked my GF who it is and she said it's Jessica Simpson.
For cryin out loud, first she does a cover of "Take my breath away" as
a single, and now she's doing yet another cover song? Can't that woman
    sing her own songs?!

  • Well, my birthday is over and done with as of now, but just to recap how the days went....

My friends tried to wake me up
as early as 10:30am per my request so I can take advantage of the whole
day.  Unfortunately, no one succeeded until about 12:20pm when
Peter was shouting at me to wake up using my answering machine.

The thing about me waking up is that I need about one - two hours to myself
before I'm ready to see the world.  Peter didn't realized that and
actually expected me to just get up and go.  Needless to say, he
was waiting awhile.  At 2pm I picked Kenny and Peter to go eat at
Max Pilipino restaurant.  Good eating = food coma for all of us.  We
then proceeded to go see Anchorman, which I thought had really
hilarious moments but is anchored-down (haha pun) by a weak opening
first quarter of the movie.  It really got good towards the
middle when it started getting really random.  Albert loves them random humor.

After the movie we went to go visit my Dog to make sure she is okay,
then went back to my house to lay the smack down on Peter and Kenny on
Rampart.  We also had fun with the bubbles game
(what's your high score?).  We then had dinner at Jubei Japanese
restaurant and got yet another food coma. Yum Yum.  Went back
home, hanged out, and stuff then went our separate ways.  I then
finished off the night watching two hours worth of Metallica on MTV2's
    Headbangers ball. Hell yeah!

It was a good birthday, nothing especially special, but it was good nonetheless.  Paint me satisfied.
    ....next up, San Diego ComiCon!!!!

  • Happy Birthday to me!!! woohoo, the big two-eight. I'm already four hours in, Here's hoping for a wonderful rest of the day.

  • So I met this girl at work.  Pretty, slim, and a blonde too.
She's apparently a friend of one of my co-workers.  I even got her
number and where she works and all, but I don't think my girlfriend
would want me to remember what it is....
So when she left I asked my co-worker where he met her from, and
apparently it was from school.  So I asked him which school, and
he said Walnut HS.  I was surprised, told him that I graduated
from WHS at '95.  He then told me he JUST GRADUATED!!!  Damn,
made me feel old and made me wonder how old that girl is.....

Alba, 23, joins a cast that includes Michael Chiklis as Ben
Grimm/Thing, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ioan Gruffudd
    as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.

Alba reportedly beat out such actresses as Elizabeth Banks (Betty Brant in Spider-Man 2) and Rachel McAdams for the role.

Alba is perhaps best known for starring in Fox's Dark Angel television
series. Her movie credits include Honey and the upcoming Into the Blue
    and Sin City.

The cast of Fantastic Four is scheduled to appear at Comic-Con International in San Diego next week.

wow, Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman, who would have thunk
that?  I guess we're going for a different kind of Sue
Storm.  I'm hoping they don't dye her hair blonde, cuz I don't
    think it'll work.

btw, NEW EPISODES OF SMALLVILLE begins Sept 22, Wednesday at 8pm on the WB.

  • On one of the forums I frequent I made a post about my pet peeves in regards to other drivers...

    1) Cellphone drivers who aren't using hands free devices! They do come
in handy to pass over though since they aren't paying as much
    attention.

    2) Drivers always needing to be first in line in a lane. I tend to box them in to teach them a lesson.

    3) Drivers going too slow for the fast lane and there's no cars in front of them. Forcing me to pass them over, damn them.

    4) Drivers who don't understand the rule "the right of way." What's worst is when they don't even realize they are at fault.

    5) SUVs in California Freeways. That's an oxymoron folks. The side rule
to that would be, people who shouldn't be driving SUVs but are. Do you
guys remember that Simpsons episode when Marge got an SUV?

As for the thing on female drivers. The rule I follow to that is this...
Male drivers have tendencies to take risks when driving, but they know
the risk factors and are prepared for any repercussions. Female drivers
on the otherhand have tendencies to take risks when driving, but they
often don't know the risk factors and aren't prepared for any
    repercussions.

...today I'm going to have to put in a sixth rule to my pet peeves:

    6) People going straight on a right turn only lane!  What's worse
is when you actually want to make a right at the next nearby
intersection, but the car next to you is already in that lane because
they went straight from the previous right turn only lane. You only
have the choices of letting him go first and go behind him, or speed
up, cut him off and teach him a lesson (which is my preferred option).
Today I had such a case, a van cut me off in the intersection because
he oops! doesn't have room ahead because he went straight and not a
right like he is suppose to.  I promptly honked my horn but had to go
behind him, so I was a little pissed and proceeded to tail gate him,
windows down, and turned up music to blast him with some heavy
metal.  He knew that I was pissed and tried to get away from me by
    going 70mph on a 45mph zone....and I was still following right behind
    him (kids don't attempt stunt - I'm a professional
). He eventually made a proper right turn and I proceeded to leave him
alone. I hope he learned his lesson and stays out of my way next time!

The sad thing is that I actually broke this pet peeve of mine once accidentally. But at least I knew I was at fault?

  • For Smallville fans check this out!
    http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0407/13/index.htm

Canadian actress Erica Durance has been cast as Lois Lane for the
upcoming season of The WB's Smallville, sources have confirmed for The
    Continuum.

The Lois character will likely be in at least four episodes. In
Smallville, Lois will be a college freshman who comes to town to
investigate the death of her cousin, Chloe Sullvian.

Durance's television credits include Tru Calling and Andromeda.

  • My girlfriend told me a funny story about our pet doggie "Kita."
You see we recently acquired a cat named "Bea," which me and my girl
lovingly call "meow-meow."  The cat is actually owned by a friend
of my girl, but she wants us to take care of the cat for an unknown
length of time (could be forever). Well as it usually is the case, Kita
doesn't exactly get along with Meow-Meow, so we consciously seperate
them the majority of the time.  Well, the owner of the cat
apparently visited and carried her nearby to our dog, and the next
scene was said to have been chaos.

    Imagine these...
Kita lunging at Meow-meow who is in the arms of her owner.
    Kita biting on Meow-meow's fur.
    Meow-meow screaming in pain.
Meow-meow clawing and biting at her owner because of pain.
    Owner screaming from pain.

Lots of action there yes?  Almost makes me want to have gotten
that on video. Yes, I'm evil that way. But let it be known that Kita
had only bitten on fur and not the cat herself (she had white fur in
her mouth for awhile). Meow-meow is actualy okay and will survive with
no damage; not physical at least.  As for the owner, well the cat
did bite her and punctured her skin, but so far she is also fine.

....and I missed all these because I was at work.
