Month: July 2004

  • Well another day at work, and nothing exciting really happened.
The only odd thing that occured to me was at about 2:35am July 12 (I
work late nights), I was walking towards my location and it just dawned
on me that this day is my six years anniversary at work.  I
mentioned this to my co-workers and one of them asked me "should I say
congratulations or say I'm sorry?" I told them that he probably should
    have opted for "I'm sorry."

Seriously though, I do love my job.  The problem is that my
department and the whole company itself has gradually been sliding down
a steep slope.  I simply wouldn't want to be there when it reaches
    the end of that slope.

  • I probably should mention that I'm a night owl, so when I'm posting
something this Monday morning, I'll actually be talking about the
    previous day Sunday.

  • That's my car folks!  A 2004 Honda Accord LX manual transmission with its 160-hp, 16-valve i-VTEC®
engine.  I'm definitely happy with my purchase, afterall, people
should be happy about the car they have.  If you're not,
    something's wrong.

Word of advice, if you are in the market to buy a new car. The general
rule is NEVER pay the sticker price (MSRP) of the car.  Always
find out what the true dealer's cost is through the invoice
price.  You can do a google search online for things like that
(ex: Honda Accord Invoice Price).  Whatever that Invoice price is,
pay less than that (not necessarily counting extended warranties or
added features). There's more to it than that actually.
"Holdback," "rebates," "incentives," etc... also fit into the true
dealer's cost.  So consider all that when buying a new car. Also,
always talk to the fleet manager, because they know you know the real
price and won't harass you to pay more.

  • Okay, now that I have a basic idea of blogging, I may as well start the
journal with stuff.  But I decided I'll just do highlights right
    now...

    1) Internet Explorer users, switch to Mozilla FireFox Web Browser.  With todays age of advance spyware,
adware, worms, viruses, and stuff, a good step would be to abandon
Microsoft's hack friendly browser. I've had firefox for about two weeks
now and I am loving it so much more than IE.

    2) Spider-Man 2 is great great great.  I was surprisingly
impressed at the quality of this sequel and the fact that it's raking
in lots of cash  ($225,588,000.00 as of writing) is pretty darn
    cool.

    3) I can't believe how much I'm really loving Jason Mraz's Waiting
for my rocket to come album
    . It's really good listening, I
suggest people give it a try.

    4) the San Diego ComiCon
    International Convention
is coming up! I've been going since
'92 (or was that '93?) and it's always been a great great yearly
    event.  Anybody else going?

    5) If you haven't guessed by the pic below, I'm infatuated with Mandy
Moore! The funny thing is that I don't have any of her albums.  I
just really respect who she is and what she's done in life.  Check
out her movie Saved!; if you
    haven't yet.

That's all for now, hopefully I'll be active with this blogging thing.

  • I am here to test this xanga thingee....
