  • Wow, I spent the better part of my free day off playing Fable for the xbox.
I haven't done a video game marathon like that for such a long time, it
almost made me feel like it was ten years ago again. I've gotta say
that I'm really enjoying this game.  I know it had a lot of hype
going into it, but it didn't matter, because I'm just having way too
much fun with it.  I like the emphasis that the game has on your
character, and how you determine his look, life style, and his
expertise through your own actions in the game. Simple stuff like
getting drunk, gaining weight from eating too much, getting married,
flirting with women (even having sex with them), buying houses, renting
houses, gaining scars through battle, etc are just great touches to the
game that I wish would be more common in other games like these. I
suppose that this game isn't really for everybody though, but I'm glad
    it's for me.

  • I had a marathon DVD session just now, and it was GREAT!  I
haven't done this forever and it was quite refreshing to say the
least, especially after recently experiencing crap movies like Resident Evil 2 : Apocalypse
(yes, I'm still not over it).  The funny thing is that I
originally wasn't going to watch the DVDs due to the fact that my
girlfriend's friend just wanted to watch some movies that he's never
seen.  I was just going to either go online or watch a
DVD I haven't seen or play video games.  But the three choices for
movies ended up being : Office Space, Battle Royale, and Better Luck Tomorrow
Those three just so happen to be in my most favorite movies of all
time, I was just sucked in and couldn't help but watch them all.
That's about roughly between 4 1/2 hours to 5 hours worth of
    film.

Watching those three back to back, I noticed some underlining
themes that connects all three movies; which are Hope and Friendship.  Office
Space had the hope of a good stable life that quite honestly needs to
be supported by going to work, Battle Royale had the hope that even
with unsurmountable odds you can still survive, and Better Luck
Tomorrow had the hope of a successful future that teens actually worry
about.  As for friendship, Office Space showed how having friends
is always a good thing when going through a rough spot in life, Battle
Royale had an emphasis on who are your true friends, and Better Luck
Tomorrow shows the dysfunctional experiences among friends.  Oh
there is one other theme consistent among the three films, which is
that there is always a romantic interest and how that person affects your
    actions.

    Hope, Friendship, and Love.

p.s. It turns out that Better Luck Tomorrow is similar to a true story about Stuart Tay.

  • Somebody at work pissed me off!  This story is going to be hard to
tell since I'm still trying to avoid giving off too much on where I
    work but here goes....

The operation that I'm in involves picking up company employees as well
as customers.  Well there's a designated area that people are
suppose to board at and we are not suppose to go away from that
routine.  The problem is that other department's employees
try their luck in getting picked up at a closer location to them,
because they are too lazy to walk.  What's worse is when the
vehicle is already moving and they try and "hitchhike" for a ride,
which is something that we're even more not suppose to do for safety
reasons. To further give you background, a long time ago we used to not
care about those rules and just pretty much acted like "good
samaritans" everytime somebody needed a ride.  But then once we
had a driver that actually followed the rules, the passenger had the
nerve to actually complain that he didn't get special treatment.
So who got in trouble? WE DID!  So we got burned, and I pretty much
insist on my drivers to make sure to just stick with the rules, since
we were taken for granted by those passengers anyways.

Well at work a bunch of employees from another department was able to
hitchhike a ride on the vehicle I was in.  I for one was
disappointed that the driver even bothered to stop for them (he's not a
"regular"), and I even said "you guys are lucky" when they
boarded.  When we got to our destination, one of those guys
approached me and said that he didn't "appreciate" my comment,
especially since they said "thank you" to the driver.  "Thank
you?" I'd rather I hear him say "I'm sorry for being an inconvenience,"
but I didn't tell that to his face.  He then kept saying how it
was the driver's decision to stop and he doesn't see why it's a
problem. I try and tell him the reason, but he just wouldn't let me
speak my mind and kept interrupting me.  I pretty much asked him
if "he wanted the driver to get in trouble" and he kept dodging the
question by saying "no, it shouldn't matter."  I told him that by
"waving" at the driver to see if he would possibly stop causes more
problems than he thinks. It puts the driver in a moral dillema of
either following the rules, or being a good samaritan.  Basically
it makes their jobs even harder than it has to be.  But Nooooo, he
wouldn't hear it and then walked off. Unbelievable! The guy breaks the
rules and he doesn't even have the ability to take a joking jab for his
    own wrong doings?

I for one am very protective of the operations' crew, and the fact that
they are soo taken for granted just pisses me off.  Those
passengers don't care about the welfare of my drivers, all they care is
that they don't have to walk farther than they have to.  They
don't even realize that upper management could easily just pull the
plug of the operation for situations like these, and then they'll be
crying that they don't get rides anymore. Those IDIOTS!

  • In a in a previous post I mentioned that I tend to have
unpopular opinions about somethings, and I've been in conflict with
others because of that. I try and consciously refrain from speaking my
mind too much unless provoked to do so, because I quite honestly would
rather not get into heated arguments.

The reason I mention this again....

Well over the weekend, I got to watch the very first Resident Evil
movie, which I thought wasn't all that great but was decent bordering
on okay.  So that night I went to check out the sequel RE2: Apocalypse
For the love of God, I thought that was the WORST movie I've ever
seen.  I have a system in rating movies from an A+ to an F, and
this is the very first one that I've given an F to. So I was thinking,
people at the least must not think that highly of this movie, but nooooooo, apparently people love it. What
the ?!  Once again I'm in the minority voice?

Check out my posts about the matter from the cloudchaser - video forum and tell me I'm far off in my thinking....

sometimes it can get really tiring and lonely being in the minority opinion.

  • I've recently been informed that I am now in the top three finalists
for the award of "leadership" for my department.  It's for that
awards event next week, which I mentioned last month.
The thing is that I'm not going to attend it anyway, because I'll be
working that night.  Quite honestly, I do NOT want to get that day
off just for the event, because I kinda do want to get paid that
day.  I don't really want to switch days off either, because
that's counter productive to the things I do on my days off also. Oh
well, that's just the way it goes.  If I win, I win, but I just
won't be there on stage to accept it.

  • After posting a response to the "Good songs in other languages"
thread from http://cloudchaser.com, it brought back memories to when I was an avid J-Pop follower.
I remembered that I made some web pages in geocities on that, and was
curious to see if it was still around.... surprisingly so, some of them
    were!

Unbelievable! I thought I abandoned all my geocities web pages at the
end of 1997, but this account still exists (as well as that silly "hit
pages" theme I was going for). My old mp3/wav files are still there
too. I guess the internet is forever in some regards.

Not only that, but my old guest book seems to still be active, and the last recorded comment on it was done on 05/15/2003 (more than five years after my last update).

*sigh* I thought I'd just share this with some of you, especially those who like Japanese Pop music.

  • So, I went to yet another one of my friend's foam parties.  This
time though it's in a club & bar, with a room dedicated to the foam
with house / trance music, while another room has the bar and is
foam-less with hip-hop stylings.  So it turned out much better
    than the previous one,
and means that the crowd this time isn't as one-sided as it was in the
other gig, and there's more variety of people.  Basically, all I'm
really saying is that there were a lot of hot chicks in skimpy outfits
this time around. But there's a
slight problem there, since this foam party is open to ALL AGES, so
some of those hot girls may not even be legal to oogle at.  Some
of them you can tell they are under age, while some are obviously
legal, but there are those who you are just not so sure about...

Another thing to note is that two of my female friends were on the
stage dancing like go-go dancers for the crowd.  I noticed that
they drew even more attention from the guys than usual.

I once again did not go in the foam, nor did I dance.  As usual, I
was just the observer of the whole thing, tapping my foot or nodding my
head to the beat, but that's about it.  Things would be different
if I actually had somebody to dance with, but my girlfriend isn't
exactly into these kinda things.  I've never been asked by girls
to dance with them either, because they usually are already with
somebody.  I don't even know if I would have agreed to a dance
with someone besides my own girl.  Time will tell on that I
    guess....

With over an hour straight conversing with my friend towards the end of
the party, I had fun at the four hours I spent there. Unfortunately, my
friend didn't get to make any profit, due to a problem with the deal he
made with the establishment's owners.  Apparently, the deal was
that the bar was suppose to make a certain amount of money, but that
wasn't achieved.  So we are expecting a bigger turnout in two
weeks (Sept 24), because he is throwing another foam party at the same
place, and there is going to be a bigger push to advertise the
    event.

To help him out, just in case people will actually read this...
