  • I heard in the news today that people who have political stickers in
their cars displayed have been vandalized.  That's just WRONG
people. It didn't even matter if it was a pro-Bush or pro-Kerry
sticker, each politicial sides both got vandalized in one way or
another.  What kind of a country do we live in now, when people
take their views in life to the extreme and start maliciously affecting
others? Are we not allowed to have a difference in opinions anymore?

  • So it's my day off, but I dropped by work.  I saw one of my
friends working, and I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks now since
I went back to third shift. So I said hi.  She said what's up and
asked me what I was going to be doing.  I told her that I was most
likely going to go home and just lounge around.  She told me she
will be off work in one hour and asked if I wanted to hang out.  I
told her NO not really. She was all, "okay fine then, be that way" and
took off.  I was just all, "okay bye bye."  She didn't seem
happy that I just brushed her off like that, and I probably came off
like some big jerk... because I WAS acting like one. I didn't tell her
that my girlfriend needed me back home, so I didn't have time to hang
out, but then I didn't tell her that did I?

I can be sooo evil sometimes.  In fact, I've been acting really evil lately.

  • Originally, I was only going to stay with my current job for just two
years.  Two years past and I decided I'll stay five years.
But now it's been over six years and a couple of months with my having
no idea if I'm going to be a "lifer" or actually end up getting another
    job.

There are many reasons why I've stayed where I am for so long. The
steady forty hours along with my lead pay rate is a good
combo.  The benefits are actually pretty darn good, so i can't
deny that fact.  The option to work nights is very much ready and
available for me to take advantage of, since I prefer the 2nd / 3rd
shift.  I get my preferred days off practically 99 percent of the
time a year (Fridays and Saturdays).  Lastly, the ability for me
to have paid vacations for events such as trips, relatives coming over,
three day weekends, concerts, and weddings that I need to attend have been oh so useful to me.

Out of all those reasons, the last one is the one that was really
keeping me anchored to my job.  I'm willing to be a "normal"
working man with his 9am - 5pm job from Mondays to Fridays, so I am
open for change.  But that last one has been very helpful to me
these past years.  In fact, there is one more important event that
I got a vacation for that is happening in one week (my Brother's
wedding).  After that though, I've got nothing super special that
I need to get time off from anymore, besides my yearly trip to the San
Diego Comic Con. So what does that mean to me now?  That means
that I am now officially going to be really serious about looking for
    another job.

One of the main reasons why I'm looking to change jobs is because of
the major holidays.  Every year so far, I've been working all the
holidays (that didn't fall on a Friday / Saturday).  That includes
Christmas, New Years, etc...  I've never really minded working
them because of the nice double pay that I get, but it can get a little
depressing at times.  In fact, last year I asked for Christmas and
New Years off, and I figured that after five years of working with the
company, I should be able to pull that off.  It turns out I still
wasn't able to.  This year is probably going to be the same thing,
and I'd honestly rather not.  So if I was going to get a new job,
    I better get holidays off.

I finally feel it in my bones to switch jobs, and I've never felt that
before when I thought about doing it these past years.  Truth be
told, I LOVE my current job and will miss it when (or if) I
leave.  But it is that time for me and it feels right.

With the job market the way it is right now, it's going to be a little
tough getting a new job.  I will be picky about what job is going
to take the place of my current one too.  Hopefully I won't be too
picky that it will take me another year before I find one.  Wish
    me luck.

  • WOW, there's a lot of chicks at work
tonight.  There's the pretty chicks, the hot sexy chicks, the cute
chicks and the slutty chicks.  A lot of blondes too, with their
mid-riffs and tight painted on pants.  Why do you ask were there
a lot of chicks? HANSON.  That's right, the band Hanson is playing
at our local House of Blues, and I guess they got themselves a nice
looking group of fans. All the female teenage fans they had in the '90s
are definitely quite legal now.  (damn I feel old)

I swear, sometimes it's nice to have this kind of eye-candy at work,
but I AM commited to my girl so there's no way I'm crossing the
line.  But I can look can't I? and maybe talk....? and maybe.. oh
wait... that's as far as I should go.

On other news, talk about FOG city.  I'm usually lucky in that I
never usually drive thru really bad fog conditions.  Tonight was
an exception.  The fog was so bad that I couldn't see pass a car's
length in front of me, let alone tell what color the signal lights are
from a distance.  I ofcourse drove slower for safety and found it
amusing when people behind me were going to pass me over, and then
decides not to because they realized how bad the fog is. Then they
decide to go behind me and mark me as the lead car to follow.
    Yup, they got ballz alright.

  • So I lost my work identification card at work.  I used it to open
up security bollards at approximately 4:15AM, and by 4:45AM I noticed
that my card is missing.  So I lost it at a relatively limited
area, but I couldn't find it.  I'm assuming that somebody picked
it up, but it's not turned in to lost and found.  So what gives
    right?

I pretty much decided that I'm not going to get it back, so that means
that I had to get a replacement.  This is where working graveyard
goes against me.  The only time the I.D. center is open is from
    11:30AM - 5:00PM.  I now work from 9:30PM - 6:00AM, so you can see
the conflict there in my interest of my time of day.  Being that I
have no choice, I went to work at around 2:45pm to get my
    replacement.

When I got there I couldn't get in the premises since I don't have
proper identification.  What's funny is that security was a little
suspicious of my being there at first, until they finally realized that
I in fact do work there.  That's fine, they are just doing their
    job. My manager showed up to escort me inside and I got my replacement;
which cost me $10. I chatted with my manager friend about X-Men Legends
for a half an hour, and then braved through traffic for home. Four
hours later, I headed back to work.  I also find out that my card
doesn't open up the security bollards anymore, so that's a problem
    that'll need to be fixed.

    ...and my I.D. drama continues.

  • cellphones cellphones cellphones.  Everybody has them
already.  But try and remember back one decade ago.  What was
    the "thing" then? Pagers.

    "bee-beep bee-beep bee-beep bee-beep"
"oohhh, you must be important 'cuz you have a pager."
"what are you a drug dealer?"

Today we have text messaging.  Yesterday we had "made up" text
messaging, where you had to hold the pager in a certain angle or
backwards to "read" what it says. You also had to assign certain
letters to certain numbers that look somewhat like it.  Like a "4"
meaning either an "h" or a "y."  Using two numbers together
sometimes makes up one letter too.  Like the "1" and two "7's" put
    together makes an "m."

Can you even read what these are suppose to say now? heck, I'm not even sure if I wrote them correctly.
    "07734"
    "435" or just a "4"
    "90 401773"

and the one thing about pagers that were useful, was that you didn't
have to talk to the person trying to get a hold of you right away.

  • Me and my girl went to Fry's Electronics to exchange a busted CDwriter
since she got the five year warranty.  The funny thing is that
this will be the second time she took advantage of the warranty.
I'm sure Fry's was not happy about that.  Anyways, it took us 45
minutes to go through the transaction.  There was a lot of
"checking product," "looking for appropriate item for exchange," and "I
got to check with the manager."  It was unbelievable.  The
two items they ended up deciding were appropriate was a brand name I
wasn't familiar with (BTC), and an opened box (TDK).  The CDwriter
we were exchanging was a Sony (which lasted two years), and they
couldn't accomodate us with a replacement for it, nor were they willing
to give us the next model up.  Talk about being a bunch of cheap
bastards. We ended with the unopened product (BTC), but then it was
FORTY-FIVE minutes later.  How crappy was that?
