  • well, I did it, I beat Halo 2!  It was a pretty fun experience,
definitely better than the first one.  My only problem with it is
that it went by a lot faster than I expected it to.  Plus they
leave the ending in a cliff hanger! aarrgghhh!  I still haven't
decided whether I'm going to buy the xboxNext just for Halo3.
Probably not at this point though (I'm still waiting for
Shenmue3).  Another interesting tidbit about this is that not
counting sports / fighters / retro compilation games, Halo3 is the
FIRST game I actually completed this year.  The many many many
games that I own for the xbox are primarily not completed yet, since I
could never dedicate a lot of time to gaming this year.  But for
    Halo2 though, I guess that's a testament to it's "awesomeness" if I
actually got my self to finish it.

next step is to try out the multiplayer option and maybe try to go online to get my ass kicked by the Halo fanatics out there.

  • So I called my girlfriend at work to tell her something.  Usually
we joke around when it comes to our greetings.  So I get the usual
"hello?" and it sounds like my girl is going for a different sounding
voice.  I respond back with my usual "hello, Albert's cellphone"
with a funny voice.  She doesn't change back her voice at this
point and proceeds to ask me who I am and who I want to talk to.
I answer back with my long-ass name with another funny voice
impersonation.  Then she puts me on hold..... I realized at that
point that she may not have been my girlfriend afterall and I just made
a fool of myself.  I get another "hello" on the other end and it
sounds like my girls voice.  I ask her if that was her co-worker
that I talked to, and she says "that must be the reason why she is giving
me this wierd look."  argh, how embarassing!  She must be
thinking that I'm some wierdo.  Needless to say, my girlfriend
    thought it was quite amusing.

  • I thought some of you might be able to take advantage of this deal while it's still available. http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com

20th).  Last I checked, the working promotional code for this
    are...

and while I'm in a similar subject...
Me and a friend of mine had a discussion on movies.  It started
off with him telling me how he did not enjoy "The Grudge" at all.
I told him that I haven't seen it yet, but I mentioned that the things
that are considered scary in the movie are partly influenced by
Japanese culture, and it probably doesn't translate well to some other
cultures.  I then asked if he's seen "the Ring" and implied that
he probably did not like it, and yeah he did not like that
    either.
He then mentioned the Matrix sequels and how he didn't like them, and I
told them that it's also partly due to how they were directed which
seemed to be heavily influenced by Japanese movies.
Then the Lord of the Rings trilogy was brought up and he was surprised
when I said that my problem with the movies was that they were not long
enough.  That's right, they were not long enough!  The
trilogy took too much time with the action sequences that I felt the
character development were secondary, or relegated to specific integral
scenes only.  In fact, I found The Fellowship of the Ring to be
the best of the three because it had the most character development out
of all three (although some things still felt forced to me).
He then told me that I probably liked Kill Bill vol.2 more than vol.1
and he is right!  He liked vol.1 more because of all the action
scenes, while I liked vol.2 more because of the characters and
    dialogue.

I've got to say that was one of the more civil movie discussions I've
ever had.  I've primarily had the opposite opinion to movies than
he did, but each of us had no real problem with that.  We accepted
each other's points of views, and that's it!  No arguing or trying
to convince the other to change their opinion. Why can't things be more
like that at a regular basis?

  • So I think I almost got in a car accident today, and who is to blame?
Women! haha, just kidding, that's not entirely true.  What
happened was quite simple.  I was driving, there's this HOT woman
walking at the sidewalk, I rubber necked looking at this woman, I look
back forward and apparently the car in front of me was already
braking.  I broke in time and it wasn't that close a call, but I
admit that I should have noticed the car in front of me braking a lot
sooner.  I guess I was looking at that HOT woman a little longer
    than I should have.

  • What a day it was. I'm not going to get into detail (except for one thing) so let me just list it out.
    1) Went to Disneyland to sign in people.
    2) Went to the doggie bath & groomers for my pet dog.
    3) Went to a family photoshoot for Christmas cards.
    4) Went to Costco for doggie stuff
    5) Went to Bestbuy to get something for my brother, but it was sold out.
    6) Went to pick up my pet dog (aarrghhh, hair cut very short!)
    7) Went to another Bestbuy to try over there.  Success!
    8) Went to a Japanese restaurant for take out
    9) Went home to eat.
    10) and then we went to see The Incredibles! and that's where I want to speak some more....

I've got to say that I fell in LOVE with this movie. It's probably
because I was raised with superhero comic books since the '70s, but I
really connected with it. I thought it was actually quite brilliant and
I'm at the point to say that it's easily my most favorite Pixar movie
yet. It's also easily in my top three favorite movies of 2004 list.

I love that this movie had a great mix of laughs, action, and emotion.
I love that when they use their superpowers, they make sense. I love
that they did a good job of showing the "normal life" side of a
superheroes secret identity (eat your heart out Spider-Man). I love
that Pixar still easily amazes with their CGI prowess. I love
Elastigirl, I thought she was the best character of the family. I love
that I actually felt real danger for them at some parts, even though I
know they would get out of it. I love that they didn't pussy-foot
around the fact that even though Dash and Violet are children, they can
still die. I love that they made an otaku the bad guy, very
appropriate. I simply loved this movie from beginning to end. So many
things I love about the Incredibles, I WANT MORE!

  • Oh man, I just bought six new CDs, and they are primarily somewhat of
impulse purchases.  I told myself a couple of weeks ago that I was
done looking for new bands to follow, as I pretty much have my fill for
that.  I had (or have) plans to only get albums from my "favorite
artists" list, which should limit my CD spending habits.  Besides,
my room can't hold that much more CDs as it is.  Well, the facts
didn't stop me, as here I am with some new albums.

Out of the six, two of them are from the band Jimmy Eat World, which I
previously bought their self-titled album a couple of years ago.
Another album was the greatest hits by Korn, and I think I actually do
have one album of theirs somewhere in my room.  Now the other
three are from artists that I've never bought an album of, and that
would be Keane, the Dandy Warhols, and...WILLIAM SHATNER!  I heard
too much positive reviews for his album, and I thought I'd like to at
least have one spoken-word record; may as well be from Captain Kirk
    himself.

    Jimmy Eat World - Clarity
    Jimmy Eat World - Futures
    Korn - Greatest Hits vol.1
    Keane - Hopes and Fears
Dandy Warhols - Welcome to the Monkey House
    William Shatner - Has Been

  • So what have you done with the internet since you first got on it?
I got the internet through college in '95, and I can probably brake down what it was for this way...

    1995 - 1999

    - porn, e-mail, e-mailing lists, newsrc, college research papers, ICQ instant
messaging / chat, web surfing, downloading music, created and managed
web sites (I used to do html in plain text on notepad)

    1999 - 2002

    - porn, e-mail, trillian (ICQ, AIM) instant messaging / chat, browsing
my favorite links, downloading music & video with P2P, online
    purchases

    2003 - 2004 +

    - porn, e-mail, trillian (ICQ, AIM) instant messaging, browsing my
favorite links, online purchases, message boards, blogging, downloading
videos, creating and managing web sites (this time using frontpage),
google stuff I need to look for

So I dropped a couple of uses for the internet as years went by like
mailing lists and just plain randomly surfing the web. I was even heavy on
Friendster for about a month before I got bored with it, and I'm not
big on chats anymore. Then there's things like message boards and
blogging that are still relatively new to me. One thing that hasn't
happened yet are online gaming on the PC, as I've never been interested
with it (although I have xbox live).

The internet does suck the life out of you, as it's a time waster the
majority of the time. I predict that the internet will be some form of
    major addiction in the future.
