  • You guys have heard of or seen the new Carl's Jr / Hardee's commercial
featuring Paris Hilton washing a car and eating a Spicy BBQ burger
right? If not, you can go to spicyparis.com. Anyways, I'm not sure if you've heard the news, but the Parent Television Council wants to ban this commercial because they say it's soft-porn and indecent.
Not only that but the PTC wants to boycott Carl's Jr / Hardee's for
their ad. I'm sorry, what? THAT'S soft-porn?! THAT'S indecent?! What
are they smoking? Have they even seen soft-porn? You get racier things
from dramatic shows like soap operas and more nudity from Shampoo
commercials than that Paris Hilton ad.

Sure the ad was made to be sexy, but it was no where near
indecent.  She wasn't pleasuring herself or anything like that.
She was alone with no male companion to cling on to, nor did she have
any "suggestive" props.  She was only wearing a one piece suit,
which would hardly be called "almost nude." Heck, the only thing wrong
with the ad is that it's trying to make us believe that she actually
washes her car, or that a thin figure like she has actually eats
    burgers.

I actually personally don't care too much about the ad itself. I'm more
concerned of yet another witch hunt coming from another conservative
group. This is getting to be really ridiculous, that these people would
take such a strong stance against a commercial that doesn't even
warrant the criticism. If you don't like it, Turn it off!  If
you're afraid that you can't control your kids to see objectionable
material, then don't use the TV as a baby sitter! Blame this, blame
that.  Take your own responsibility some time why don't you.
