  • Going into Wedding Crashers,
I was constantly told that this was a very funny and absolutely
hilarious movie.  Being the skeptic that I am, I thought that's
too high a compliment to live up to.  I was right. It's a funny
movie sure, but it's a funny movie in the romantic comedy
vein. It's not hilarious all the way through, because the mushy
romantic stuff gets in the way at times. In fact the whole fourth act
was all about the romance part with the laughter not being as common as
the first three acts. The Wedding Crashers is in fact a great
    ROMANTIC-comedy
though, even if there are some common cliches that comes with the
genre. I like the genre myself, especially when it's done well, and
this movie meets that standard. So guys, don't hype this movie up too
    much as being completely
absolutely hilarious, because that's being much much too generous. I
know some people that went in the movie believing that hype, and came
out disappointed because of it. Good movie though, I recommend it just
for Vince Vaugn's great performance, and the rest of the cast. As for Rachel McAdams and Isla
    Fisher
    ....hotness! "B-"

    Water's Edge feels
like one of those made for cable movies, but is produced well enough
for a film noir flick. But as it usually goes with the film noir genre,
it's all about the mysterious past, the shady suspicious characters,
and the climactic conclusions that pits everybody and everything
together.  Yeah, it's the stubborn hardly changing standard for
the genre, and sometimes it works real well, while sometimes it
don't.  This movie works a little bit above average than others,
and the actors do a splendid job making the film work better than it
probably should. The characters do questionable "why did you do that?"
moments, but redeems them somehow by some subtle explanations. The plot
is interesting enough to keep you watching although the conclusion is
only moderately satisfying by it's simplicity. "C+"
