  • "Just google it." That's an answer
I've been using a lot the past year or so. Seriously though, if you
have a question that needs answer, just google it. We live in a time
when we really can do the research ourselves, very conveniently, and
efficiently too. Answers can easily be found if you just... google it.
The internet is a wonderful thing isn't it?

  • aargghh, I have way too many shows that I'm following a week, that I
simply do not have time to watch them all. I could easily cut off a
bunch of shows, but for the most part, a lot of those shows are ones
that I really do not want to miss. So I had to figure out which shows
are the ones I'll be able to live without. Those shows ended up
being.... All the Law & Order series, except for Special
Victims Unit. All the CSIs. NCIS.... and that's at least six hours of
time saved. Everything else though, I
just can't go without. That's about 10 one hour shows
and 21 half hour shows that I watch regularly. Luckily my TiVo is able
to hold a little over two weeks worth of those programmings, before
it's too late for me to catch up on the ones I haven't seen yet.

As I type this, I still have about six hours left of programming that I
haven't seen yet. By the end of this season though, one of those one
hour shows and four of those half hour shows will be finishing it's
run. That will save me a whopping three hours off the total. I'll
hopefully be able to avoid adding new shows to watch when summer/fall
    season starts.

... and people said there's nothing good to watch on TV anymore.

  • well I've gone and done it. I went ahead and ordered a new laptop, which should be arriving about 2-3 weeks from now. It's an HP Pavilion notebook PC zd8000 series.
I swore off getting another desktop as I like the portability of a
laptop. My current laptop on the other hand is quite outdated though,
and I'd really like to get a nice setup that'll last me at least 3-5
years. Plus, I want one that has the numberic keypad included already,
which a lot of laptops do not offer. I originally intended to wait for the new operating system by Microsoft, but I learned that despite being more streamlined, it's not light years apart from it's predecessor; Windows XP Media Center edition.

well for those curious, here's the setup for the laptop I ordered...

    - HP Pavilion zd8000 Customizable NB
    - Windows(R) XP Media Center Edition for ONLY $99!!!
    - Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 650 w/HT Technology, 3.4GHz
    - 17.0" WSXGA+ BrightView Wide Viewing (1680x1050)
    - 2.0GB DDR2 SDRAM, 533MHz (2x1024MB)
    - 100 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
    - DVD+/-RW/R & CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer Support
    - 54g(TM) Integ. Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN & Bluetooth
    - 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) X600
    - 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    - Microsoft(R) Works/Money

  • a quick rant...

People, I'm all for quick lane changes on the road, but for the love of
God, make sure to check to see if there's a car next to you first! Oh,
and turning on your signal light does not count if you are already in
the middle of changing lanes! Turn on your signal light, and at least
give us three seconds to get out of your way before changing lanes.
And you people with your Sports Utility Vehicles and huge trucks (like
an F150), you of all people should have NO excuse to not see other cars
around you.  Isn't that why you went for the bigger raised
vehicles, so you can have a better vantage point of what's around you
(or was that just because it's hip and cool)? Use your mirrors, and
learn how to drive your huge vehicles properly if you're going to own
    one.

    ...end of rant.

  • I recently went to an Asian themed festival, primarily as a celebration
for the upcoming Chinese New Year (Dog). You know there's a lot of
Asians in attendance here, because just upon the process of parking,
you can already see the frustrated parking attendants trying to put up
with all these Asian drivers who can't drive.  In fact, I
witnessed at least three cars at minimum who didn't know how to follow
directions on where / how to park. I admit that it's one of those
stereotypes that just bites Asians in the ass, and I'm Asian.

The festival had several rows of booths, dedicated to clothes, DVDs,
food, CDs, carnival games, food, jewelry, ornaments, food, etc... yeah,
half of the booths were vendors selling yummy yummy looking food. There
was even a dog fashion show there, although I wasn't able to see it.
However, a lot of the dogs were still in the festival along with their
    owners, roaming around.

Me and my girlfriend didn't stay too long there (had to be somewhere
else), but we did eat a little, bought a few items, and played a
carnival game.  Scratch that, I was suckered into playing a
carnival game, which was a throw darts and pop balloons type. It was $5
for three darts, and I got two out of three, winning a Kermit the frog
doll. Well, I was eyeing this doggie stuffed animal and inquired how many
balloons do I have to pop to get that. The guy told me I needed seven.
So for $10, I got six darts to throw, but missed two, which brought my
total to only six. Considering I went this far, I paid another $5 for
the last balloon to pop.  I got the dog, and I'm currently
convincing myself that it's worth $20.  I'll have to say it is
though, because my niece seems to like it quite a bit.

  • Here's another thing I saw that I thought was pretty humorous.  I
was walking back to my car in the parking lot when a car parked nearby
me.  There were four passengers in the car. When they exited out
of their vehicle, each one of them were on the cellphone. Wow.  It
made me think that they couldn't hold a conversation with each other
when they were in the car, each one of them had to talk to somebody
else with their cellphones. The times we live in now.
