This past day and later today, I'm actually mistakenly scheduled the late swing shift (6PM-2:30AM) as opposed to my regular early graveyard shift (9:30PM-6AM). It's funny but when I showed up at 6PM, if I only had a dollar for everytime somebody said "hey, what are you doing here, when the sun is still up," I would be a rich man. Seriously, it was funny at first, but then it got a little tired and annoying. One bad thing about starting this "early" though, is that I actually have to eat at work. Normally I would eat dinner at home with my fiancee, then leave for work, but now I actually have to eat at work. That's another thing, I already had to leave for work before my fiancee left her work, so I couldn't even see her at all before leaving.
The night at work went by as normal as expected, but the wierd thing is that my body and mind were still adjusting to the different time frame. By 1AM, my body felt like it was ready to go home, while my mind was thinking that I still have five hours left. Still, getting home a lot earlier than normal is nice, but while it's a little past 3AM right now, I'm trying to convince myself that it's a little past 6:30AM already, so that I don't end up waiting until it's actually 7:30AM to sleep like I normally do. I also have to get myself to wake up a lot earlier than normal too just to readjust myself to a swing shift day, but getting up at 10AM on a work day will definitely be a departure for me.
