This week, I was scheduled to go to Jury Duty. However, since I did attend Jury Duty mere months ago I was able to be excused from it. Fate would have it, I guess I was meant to go to court anyway, except this time as a witness for a trial. I'm representing my company as a witness to an incident that happened at my work place three years ago. That's right, that long ago, and I honestly don't remember much about it. My name was mentioned in the statements as someone who came upon the incident after the fact, so I was not even directly involved to what happened with the plaintiff. Because of that one sentence statement saying I was there, I had to show up in court to fill in any gaps in the story. I was only there for less than four hours total at least, only requiring to be on the stand for no more than five minutes. I even got two free days of paid time off from work to top it off. So check it out, I now have some experience going to court as a Jury member and as a witness, and that's pretty cool in itself.

how weird. did you only get paid time for work as a witness because it was work related?
yup, work related. So they have to pay me.
