Had my first real session of local multiplayer with Halo 3 recently with three other friends of mine. aahh, it's still ridiculously as fun as it ever was, and it's no surprise that this is the most popular console FPS out there.
Somebody recently asked me why Halo is so popular, and the truth is that it's because of the multiplayer mode. The competition that comes with this game is what drives people to keep playing. It's kinda like sports, except it's a video game. Unfortunately, I'm not one who goes online to play other people since I'm not that great, so I can only really appreciate the multiplayer in split-screen mode. Despite my lack of online playtime, it's not hard to see why Halo 3 deserves the critical and commercial success it gets.

do you spend a lot of time playing it?
I don't really play Halo a lot, especially after I've already finished the story mode. However, when my friends are over, we're up for some multiplayer action most of the time.
If there's one game series that I've been playing a lot recently, it's probably Guitar Hero.
