  • Had some near house scares this past day.

When I was taking my shower, I noticed that the hot water wasn't working. Obviously I was thinking it's the water heater in the garage that's the problem. Then I hear my dogs barking and I starting thinking the worse. "Ohmygod, is the heater on fire?" I get out of the bathroom thinking I'll be seeing smoke or something, but by the time I get to the garage things looked normal. I take a look and the water heater has a leaking sound, and the flame underneath it (the pilot light?) is a lot more pronounced than I've ever noticed. It's like the fire underneath is getting larger. I turn off the water heater, but now I have to wait to see about getting it fixed. No hot water for now...

Speaking of water, something almost happened because of the cat we are keeping watch. Since my brown dog doesn't get along with the cat, we leave the kitty in one of the rooms upstairs with a bathroom. Well, when we checked on the cat, he apparently was able to turn on the bathtub's faucet. The bathtub was plugged up, so it was filled with water, and it was almost at the point where it would have overflowed. Stupid cat, could have flooded the room. Well, the cat isn't staying long with us anyways, in fact it's prospective owner is going to pick him up about four hours from now actually. Maybe I'll say my good byes right now before I sleep, since my wife is going to handle the "transaction."
