Hey, my house is actually on google maps' street view now! What's funny is that they got the wrong house for my address, and my house is listed as a few numbers down. I don't have to worry about privacy issues I guess. I was hoping that my dogs might make it in the photo though, since they like to hang out by the side gate. However, they must have swung by around a time when my dogs were inside the house. So supposedly it turns out that all of California is on street view now, so if you live in this state like I do, you may want to take a peek.

Wow, I actually got really really angry at the lead I was working under at work. I believe I had a blog post about how it can be frustrating knowing that I can do a much better job than the person in charge. I also mentioned that I've also been annoyed that I haven't been seeing my wife much lately because I've been "forced" to work the late swing shifts. I had an opportunity to leave work early this one night so I can see my wife before she goes to sleep, but I had to wait for the lead to give me the go ahead first. However, because of his constant screw up at work, I never left early, and almost even had to stay later than I should have. He absolutely had no excuse too, because he had lots of staffing to make the operation run ssoooo smoothly, but he managed to make a mess of things. I wasn't the only one complaining too, as pretty much everybody that night had an issue with him.
I did find some ducklings at work though. For whatever reason they were separated by their mommy or daddy. However because my company has a "bird-flu" type policy, they couldn't do anything for them. I felt sorry for the ducklings, so I thought I might go ahead and take them home and maybe convince a neighbor of mine (who has sheeps, lammas, horses, etc) to adopt them. Another co-worker of mine however thought they were really cute and wanted to keep them. So that was that, and I hope my co-worker will be happy with the little quack quacks.

On another another note when I was back at home. I left a Supreme Croisant sandwich from Jack N The Box on my table. Had to leave the room for a bit and noticed that I'm missing one dog in my sight. Rushing back to the other room where my food was, my other dog is walking towards me having a hard time carrying something with his mouth. It was my sandwich! Fortunately because it was still wrapped pretty well, he never got to the food that was inside the wrapper himself. Maybe he was just bringing me my food?????

This past Saturday, April 05, 2008, I went to "The Bamboozle Left" music festival at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California. It was the first of two days at the venue, however I am not attending the second day. The last time I went to Bamboozle was in 2006, but this time I have one huge incentive in that I get to see the reunion live performance of "Face To Face" after they officially broke up in 2003. Ofcourse there are other bands I also wanted to see, and it turns out that from 6PM - 11PM, I was going to be "stuck" seeing all those bands back to back to back to back.
I arrived at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater around 4:45PM, parked my car with no problems, and was even able to bring my digital camera in (yay!). The first thing I noticed was "wow, are there are a lot of people with Paramore shirts," which suggested that they were the band most of the people came to see. The second thing I noticed was how there seemed to be a lot of people smoking marijuana. Anyways, I started to walk around the merchandise booths, and who do I see hanging near the "Bayside" booth, but none other than Nick, Carlo, Jon, and Mike Kaminsky of the Meg & Dia band. Meg & Dia weren't performing that day, but look, there they were anyway. Carlo was the first one to notice me walking towards them, and immediately greeted me. I said hi to all of them, and as always to my surprise, they really do remember who I am from all the times I've been to their concerts. We chatted a little bit about their studio time working on their upcoming second album, what brings them to Bamboozle, etc... I did not want to take up too much of their time though, so I went on my way after a few minutes. What I pleasant surprise that was, and I was even wearing one of their shirts too.

The Bamboozle Left has six stages total, plus some amusement rides as well. Since I was only going to stick with the main two stages, I took the free time to walk around and visit the other stage areas before parking myself in one spot for five hours straight. By the time I got to the main two stages, the first thing I tried to do was to find that one spot that I could stay at and still be able to take photos and videos of the performances. Unfortunately, with the amount of people in attendance, that proved to be a very hard task. I ended up staying towards the left area (my view to the stage) of one of the two stages. Since the main stages were side by side, I figured I can take advantage of my digital camera's zoom capability on the stage farthest from me. That's true to some extent, but since I'm not that tall of a person, I had to manuever my camera in certain ways to keep a clear shot of the stage. In many cases, I had to raise the camera above my head to get a clear view, and wow was that the whole night tiring to my arms.
The performances themselves were all mostly good experiences. Reel Big Fish had an enjoyable set with humor, and I was surprised to hear them cover Metallica's "Enter Sandman." New Found Glory were also good, playing a good mix of their hits and newer material. Alkaline Trio weren't as lively on stage as I was hoping them to be, although technically they sounded good. Face To Face was awesome, and I'm glad to have been able to see them live. Paramore probably had the best performance of the day, as they were very very lively, and to be in that audience surrounded by hundreds of girls singing along to the band was just.....wow. Jimmy Eat World were as good as they always are, still touring with mostly their newer material, but also busting out their big hits as well. The All American Rejects by far is my main disappointment of the night, because while they sounded musically fine, the lead singer came off a bit of a douche-bag to me because of all the sexual innuendo ways he was interacting with the audience, and his constant need to use foul language (I'm no prude or anything, but wow).

By the time I got back in my car, learning from past experiences, I decided to just wait out the traffic of getting out of the parking lot. I decided to just stay in my car and start editing the videos I took to take advantage of the time. A half hour later, it was all clear for me to just zoom on out of there and head home. Bamboozle Left was fun, and as long as they continue providing a stellar lineup of bands performing, I'll definitely try and make it again the next time it comes around.

oh geez, the in-laws are bugging my wife again, about how we should have a child. The funny thing is that they told her that she must be the one who doesn't want to have a kid because supposedly I want one. what what what?! Where did they get that idea from? If anything else, I'm even more adamant about not having a kid. If they don't say that, they tell her that it's because we have dogs that we don't want to have a kid, hence we supposedly should get rid of them. uh uh, I don't think so. The dogs stays. I know they come from the "old way" of thinking, in that we have to procreate to extend the bloodline. However in all honesty, a lot of us in my generation are finding more and more excuses not to have children, so I wish they would just give it a rest.

I think I went over this topic before, but ever since the video game Rock Band has the option to get new songs through digital distribution, the subject of music elitists is once again in the air. The reason is because the company behind Rock Band; Harmonix, can only release so many songs per week. Usually it's about three new songs to download per week, and ofcourse not everyone is expected to automatically like the songs they chose either.
So now in the internet forums, you have people literally arguing about the songs that are released, and about songs they want to be released. It isn't enough that Harmonix is even bothering to release new songs to download every single week since the game has been released *cough*unlikeguitarhero3*cough* but people practically demand that they only be songs that cater to their musical taste. People online are such greedy bastards that it's all about "me, me, me" when it comes to the songs they want. Punk, Metal, Classic Rock, Pop Rock, etc... are all genres that have been released for the game, and you figure that the variety would satisfy most gamers. It should, but as it turns out, not so much.
People nowadays need to get off their high horse on what is suppose to be considered "good music," because there is a thing called "opinion" and "personal taste." If someone likes a band or a song that you personally don't like, it doesn't mean that someone has bad taste in music. Just because you only like one particular genre; like take metal for example, doesn't mean every other genre are bad. Variety is the spice of life people, and that also applies to music.
