  • I recently visited one of my local Best Buy stores, and there was a major layout change to it. Usually the CD aisles are the first things you see when you enter the store, but not anymore at the Best Buy I went to, as it's the video games section now. I know that the video games industry is winning money-wise compared to the music and movie industry, so I can see the reasoning behind the store layout change. The shift in the market is finally showing some signs of affecting the way certain stores run things, and in this case, it's video games that are suppose to draw people into the store. Imagine that.

Another marketing trend that I've noticed is the fast food restaurants beverage wars. In this case, it's iced coffee. McDonalds, Del Taco, etc... are now offering and pushing their iced coffee menu to the public. It's almost like this is a direct response from Starbuck's presence or something. They do have something going for it though, because I'm seeing people holding those iced coffee in their hands a lot lately. Speaking of coffee, Starbucks have added a few new drinks to their menu, fruit smoothies that they are calling Vivanno. So what's that, a direct response to places like Jamba Juice and Robeks? These efforts are ofcourse the quest to find that next big fad thing. Like years ago when Boba tea was really popular.

  • They changed around our bestbuy as well. I personally dont like it because they dont have enough sample guitar heroes for a gamer nerd like me, and if they are going to have the new guitar her, rock band, and various other games to sample, why do they NEVER have the new DDR??
I guess Starbucks came up with the protein smoothie thingies because they are failing miserably at making money. Not enough people are like me, and willing to pay more for a cup of coffee that tastes superior, and comes with great service and a calming atmosphere.
Anyway love the site! Im totally subbing!
