I can be a pretty stubborn guy, but maybe now I'm going to pay for it. I've been having pain in my lower left back, and it does not seem to be going away. It's been a week now since it started and I'm a little bit concerned. I'm now consciously changing the way I'm sitting down now, when I'm in a car, and when I'm in front of my computer. In fact, I went to Target recently just to buy a couple of things, to have a new setup to use my computer on, so I could sit better. Man, just going to sleep can be a little bit of an effort, as I have to position myself properly to not feel the pain. Somebody suggested I buy heat pads to ease the pain, or just a hot towel, or as far as needing to go to a chiropractor. Like I said though, I'm stubborn and currently just waiting it out to see if it gets better. Stubborn, I know.

This chihuahua that we are fostering must have some kind of split personality. For one minute she'll be all "oh, love me, pet me, rub me" and all that, and the next minute she is off in the corner blaring her teeth and growling at us. What gives dog? We've started giving her the nickname "Jekyl/Ms.Hyde" depending on her personality at the moment.
We've pretty much established that this chihuahua does not get along with our white dog, actually it's more like the other way around. The brown dog doesn't seem to have any ill will towards her, but the white dog either sees her as a threat for attention's sake (flashback to when we had the ninja dog?), or sees her as a rodent for him to chase. It takes a bit of coordination whenever we want the chihuahua to get some "roaming around time," because we need to put our dogs somewhere else, and away from her. They take turns with us, more or less, and it seems to be working out so far.
There are signs that this chihuahua has hope for getting acclimated to a new home, but whoever ends up with her is going to have to work hard for that to be a success. Maybe her new owners will be able to exorcise Ms.Hyde from Jekyl.

You Are Jack You are a natural but reluctant leader. People are drawn to you in times of crisis.
And while the role of leader is not something you're totally comfortable with, you will fight hard to keep it.You are obsessed with fixing things and people. You can't rest until everything is better.
You have complicated ethics. Doing the right thing is important to you, even though other people may not understand your motives. You are concerned with maintaining your stoic image. It hurts when other people see you suffer.
Deep down you are very moody. You tend to be unhappy, and you have a depressed, self-destructive streak. What I've been listening to lately...- 10:44 am

This is probably going to be a regular thing to happen with my wife, but she went ahead and fostered another dog, per the request of her friend at the animal rescue group. It's an eight years old female Chihuahua, and I feel that she might be too old to get acquainted with us. Maybe. My wife said that unlike the case with the "ninja dog," we won't be keeping her here for a long period of time. Maybe a few days, or a week. Right now, she is at that point where she just does not want to leave her crate, so we're not trying to see if our dogs are going to get along with her just yet. Chihuahua is going to have to stay separated at this point, and just stay at the guest room. It's like she's a cat that we are trying to keep away from our dogs. Pretty much. It hasn't even been half a day yet since she arrived home, so we'll see if things improve.

Yesterday, Affliction MMA had their second event at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA; "Day of Reckoning." It's been six months since it's last event, so having the chance to go see this live again was pretty exciting. This time around, I had more people to go with me, so that was pretty cool.
When we got there, one of the first things I did oddly enough was "The Miller's Lite challenge." They made me do a blind taste test, determing which one I like better (preferably for them, Miller's Lite). I chose the correct one, but honestly though, it was pretty obvious that they watered down the competition's beer (Bud Light), which made it easier for me to give them the answer they wanted to hear. Afterwards, I went to purchase an Affliction : Day of Reckoning shirt to commemorate the event. While I was by the merch booth, I noticed that they also had MMA trading cards, available for free on one of the tables. Imagine that, MMA trading cards! What is this becoming, baseball?
Once again, we were at the cheap seats. The nose bleed sections. Since this is the Honda Center though, it's not that high up that you don't have a clear view of the fights. Unlike the last time, the place was filled enough that they did not need "seat fillers" anymore, so we were for sure stuck where we were. What's kinda funny was that me and my friends were trying to get "better seats" by taking seats that were closer, but not ours. The ushers however recognized us, and where we were suppose to be, so they kept telling us to move back to our seats. Bummer, but oh well.
As for the fights themselves, I'm not going to spoil anything here, but feel free to check out other websites out there that have play-by-play accounts of the matches (http://www.sherdog.com). The majority of the fights were definitely great, and there were a lot of awesome high-light reel worthy knock outs. Fighters weren't just technically knocked out, they were knocked out cold and stayed on the ground for quite a bit. In fact, for one of them, the EMTs were ready with the stretcher, because it looked really serious. In another fight, a fighter got hit in the groin three times, which made that first round one of the longest I've ever seen, since the guy had to rest from the groin shot over and over again. I didn't even think two of those three groin attacks actually made contact with his balls though, so the guy might very well have been faking it.
What's funny was that MMA fighter Tito Ortiz was doing the after fight interviews with winners, and a great majority of the audience must not like Ortiz, because everybody just booed whenever he was on. People were loud too, and it turns out that the people who were watching the pay-per-view definitely heard the boos as well. I felt sorry for the winners though, because they were probably thinking "why are they booing me?"
The main fight that people were here for is ofcourse the Fedor Emelianenko vs Andrei Arlovski match. The main appeal to the match is that Fedor is the best heavy weight fighter in the world, that hasn't lost since the year 2000. Arlovski is on a five win streak, and honestly has a chance to break Fedor's reign. Needless to say, it was a great match, with a shocking knock out finish. After that main card, a lot of people started leaving, but the Jay Hieron vs Jason High fight that was suppose to be one of the opening bouts, but was delayed until the end of the night still had to go on. Too bad people left, because once again it ended with a nice dramatic exploding knock out. I swear, they should have just called this "Affliction : Knocked Out."
This was a great fight card, that me and my friends got to see live for a little above $50. That's a great deal. We hope Affliction can keep up this quality and start getting more recognition (I actually saw a billboard and news coverage), because I really don't want this organization to fold under lack of profit like some others already have. MMA isn't just the UFC you know.

So just these past few days I finally got more into facebook, and I can see why some people can get addicted to it. I've been updating my account with the usual social networking data, and I've even imported my xanga blog and my youtube to it. I'm pretty much embracing facebook now and what it can do, but I don't think I'm going to be a heavy user, nor am I abandoning my xanga blog by the way. I'm most likely not going to do any of the game applications, or things that require some regular maintenance, because it's not something I'm interested in. I've also noticed that some of the apps aren't firefox friendly, so that's a bit of a bummer. I am overly impressed with what facebook has to offer though, because if it existed years ago, I probably wouldn't have found a need to create my own personal web page, get a xanga account, photobucket, youtube, etc. Facebook has done a good job in creating a format that easily allows you to represent who you are online. It's definitely better than myspace's clunky design that I never really liked, and hardly ever looked at much. There's a reason Facebook is winning the social networking "fight" against myspace.
Although I'm just now "a believer," I've actually had my facebook account for quite sometime now, except that I just never used it. This is a social networking site that encourages using your real name, which is something that I've been trying to avoid. I decided against using my real name after all and am using an alias for my account, although if you browse through my facebook closely, you will be able to figure out what it is.

Here's more news about the "ninja dog," and it's an impressive one because she went "all Lassie" this time around. The ninja dog's owner's niece was recently in the hospital because she was really sick. Over the weekend she was sent back home, with an advisory from the doctor saying to keep an eye on her, especially if she get's a high fever, or it would be very dangerous.
Well, late one night the ninja dog was whimpering a lot and making noise, causing her owner to wake up. Since her owner was woken up, she went to checked on her niece, and it turns out that she has a very high fever. Immediately, they had to take care of her. If the ninja dog did not wake her owner up, her niece might have actually died from the high fever. Wow, good going ninja dog. It makes us proud to have been her former foster owners.
