  • I was in the area near an official Verizon Store. Not a kiosk or a best buy verizon representative thingee, but the real official store. Remember my "dust under the screen" problem I have for my Blackberry Storm? Yeah, I decided to talk to them about that. At first they were really cagey about the subject, and pretty much blamed me for getting this problem because I put my phone in my pocket, and how I should use a belt clip instead. I asked them if it can be fixed, and they said no. So I pretty much told them that it's a manufacturer defect, and I heard that other Verizon stores are offering a free exchange because of that. That line of reasoning didn't work in other Verizon stores I've previously visited, but I apparently convinced this one. There was a caveat though, I had to buy a belt clip from them to go with the exchange. They said that the exchange would be pointless if I continue to put my phone in my pocket, and how I would just end up returning back to them in the future once I end up getting the same problem again. I told them that I can't use the clip at work and would have to put my phone in my pocket anyway. They said that was their one condition to the exchange. At that point I just wanted to get it over with, so I agreed to this arrangement.

Since this is technically a new Blackberry Storm that I now have, I lost all my calendar and notes data, as well as all the applications I downloaded. I'm going to once again have to re-download all of those again, and reinsert all the data that I lost. It's going to be a pain and time consuming to do, but it has to be done. I at least still have my music and videos from my MicroSD card, and they did transfer my contact list. Now I just need to browse online for a case that offers full protection of the phone, and allows me to put it in my pocket, because I am not going to use that stupid belt clip that I was "forced" to buy...
