  • - Unless you are under the age of 21, growing up in general blows. To be more specific, aging sucks. You start noticing your health not being as great as it once was, especially when you neglect to keep more in shape. But that complaint is more "user error" than just growing old though, so whatever on that part. Lately though, I've noticed that I've gotten a little more forgetful about things. The funny thing is that I'm still able to remember the oddest memories from YEARS ago, but a situation that may have happened just a few hours ago would be out of my memory. I call it "selective memory," but maybe there's more to it than that. This blog of mine will come in handy in the future when I get amnesia or something....

    - On the subject of age, one thing that I seem to do lately, is to figure out how old people were 10, 15, 20, or 25 years ago, especially when I hear how old somebody is now. Usually this applies to actors that I've grown up with. For example, Harrison Ford is turning 67 years old next month, and I wonder how old he was when Star Wars first came out (answer : 35). Or how about Robin Wright Penn, who recently turned 43 this year, and turned out was 21 years old when The Princess Bride was released. It just fascinates me for some reason. I've never really thought about how old somebody was, back when I was a young boy, but now I'm all "he/she was that old in that movie?!" I guess it's because I'm simply comparing how old they were, to how old I was, in a particular year. It's as if I'm looking to the future at how much I personally could age, like they have.

    - Another thing of notice, is that i now have this small bald spot on the back of my head. Am I balding with age? There's literally a spot there that isn't growing any more new hair. I think it's a result of a wound that I got back there, from hitting the back of my head on something. What that something was, or when it happened, I dunno. It's kinda weird how I just completely forgot what happened, to give me this kind of a problem... it's the UFOs isn't it?

  • "... have you ever found a metal chip in your body?... You checked everywhere?" -  Fox Mulder

  • actually, yeah it could be from a wound, i've seen other guys with wounds from car accidents/whatever and they have such spots.

    i hate forgetting recent events too.

  • there's hairs there if you look close so the roots are still there me thinks, but meh could be from an accident too. don't worry about it too much. people think bald guys are hot too!

  • Whoohoo!  One day closer to death!

    Actually I'm stoked cuz I was coaching fencing to a bunch of HS kids recently and when I told them my age, they were really surprised.  They all assumed I was in my 20s.  Then again, I usually smoke them when I'm leading drills.

  • @darren_macintyre - that's part of being Asian I guess. Just the other day, somebody thought I was 27 years old. Works for me!

    @dtranrob - i dunno, there IS a small bump nearby that bald spot though, hhmmmm

    @kalamai - @myotismon3 - i'm definitely leaning more towards the wound/accident theory

  • Screw all the imperfections.  Just shave it clean and buff that baby like Teddy Savalas!  You can even electrocute your pores a la the king of pop and then surgically replant hairs later when you want a stubble again :P
