The San Diego Comic-Con International is just a day away, and I am expecting this year to be quite a bit special, compared to previous years. First off it's the 40th Anniversary this year, so that in itself is pretty special. This year, I'm actually driving down there with a friend, which is something I haven't done in many years. To top it off, years and years of going "you should go to Comic-Con some time" to my wife has finally worked, because she will be meeting me down there for the last two days. I also know a few other friends who will be attending, so I'll be meeting up with people sometime in the next five days over there, which is somewhat odd for me since I'm usually such a lone wolf at the convention. Another thing of note is that this is the first year where I'll be updating my Twitter / Facebook status on what I'm doing at Comic-Con, and then use those for my blog recap posts here (should make things easier for me). I'll still be uploading photos and videos to my photobucket and youtube account respectively.
Now looking at the program guide for the event, these are what I'm looking forward to (if I can attend them)...

Comic-Con's all about the TV shows, Movies, Anime, Video Games, free stuff, and the people in costumes (can't forget that). People who still think it's only about comic-book nerds is definitely mistaken. Ever since Hollywood started "invading" Comic-Con a decade ago, this convention has evolved into a pop culture extravaganza. Still, with all the ignorant people out there, it just makes Comic-Con like our little secret on how awesome it is.
