okay, we all know that gas prices have been pretty high recently.
Ironically enough, supposedly the USA still has one of the lowest
prices in gas. Other countries are paying at $5/gl in some cases!
Still, I want my gas price at least 50 – 75 cents cheaper, because all
those cents do add up, and I’m selfish about that.On that note, recently I was talking to somebody and cars came into the subject. He said that he is planning to buy a Ford F-150 truck,
and I quickly snapped back with a “when gas prices are so high?!!!” The
answer I got was, “but it’s been selling so well recently and I’m also getting the
one that has back seats for additional passengers.” HOW is that
an exceptable answer? I just end up thinking that if I was
wealthy rich and had money to throw around, then would I have the same
logic? I don’t think so. I would probably still buy a nice sedan or
something of that nature. If I wanted to splurge on a car, I
would probably get a sports car.I’ve never understood the fascination with trucks and Sports Utility
Vehicles here in California. The majority of these people who own
these types of cars, don’t even use them for it’s original
purpose. They use them as casual vehicles to drive around in. All
I can guess is that they are buying into the hype and getting sucked
into the fad of owning these vehicles. I can understand people actually
buying them for their intended purpose, or those who want an
uber-powerful vehicle. I personally think it’s awfully
shallow of those people who buy them just for “style” and for the
status quo, but I guess that reflect’s their personalities.
