  • I've already said before that I'm not a big fan of myspace.com in general. It's mostly due to the people in it's online community that are abusing the service and it's system, giving it it's notoriety. Besides the obvious advantage of communicating with people through myspace, there is one function that makes having an account completely worth it though. Music. The music portion of myspace is rather huge, supporting singers / musicians / bands who are either on a major or independent label, or those up and coming unsigned talent. The best part of that is that you get to legally sample full songs (be it 1 or 5 selections) to get a taste as to whether or not you like the music. Whenever I hear about a new band, one of the first places I go to try and figure out if it's someone I would like is in fact myspace music.

So despite my speaking ill about myspace.com, I'll have to give it some proper recognition to it's contribution to spreading new music for the masses.
