  • I was walking towards my car at work, when a latina lady calls for my attention. It appears that she is having a problem with her car and wanted my help to try to figure it out. I'm not that good at all with how a car works, but I thought I'd give it a shot. She told me that she is hearing some grinding noise when she tries to drive, and that it's harder for her to press down on the gas and break pedals. Despite insurance and legal issues, I went ahead and sat in the driver side to have a feel of the problem. I drove it about 20 feet and concluded that there doesn't seem to be a problem at all. She questions whether I'm right or not, so I told her to hop in and try it herself. She gets in, puts her seat belt on, puts it on drive, and is about to go when I stopped her. "uuhhmm, you should put the parking break down," I told her. She looked confused, tried to put the parking break down, but didn't know how to do it. Yeah, I think we know what her problem was. I then showed her how to use the parking break, told her she should be okay, and off she went. I then thought about how she must have drove all the way to work with her parking break on.
