Being in a commited relationship, one thing that has been sacrificed a lot lately, is spending time with my friends. It's not like I can't spend some time with them though, because I'm allowed to if I wanted to. There's lots of times I had to bail out from my friends, because I have to do something with my lady. The thing is, quite honestly, I'd choose my girl over my friends, which I'm sure they understand that...right?
Whether we are just doing some chores together or have dates, a lot of
the times, it's just for the two of us, and I really don't mind.
* cue whip snapping sound * ? not quite.

I was walking towards my car at work, when a latina lady calls for my attention. It appears that she is having a problem with her car and wanted my help to try to figure it out. I'm not that good at all with how a car works, but I thought I'd give it a shot. She told me that she is hearing some grinding noise when she tries to drive, and that it's harder for her to press down on the gas and break pedals. Despite insurance and legal issues, I went ahead and sat in the driver side to have a feel of the problem. I drove it about 20 feet and concluded that there doesn't seem to be a problem at all. She questions whether I'm right or not, so I told her to hop in and try it herself. She gets in, puts her seat belt on, puts it on drive, and is about to go when I stopped her. "uuhhmm, you should put the parking break down," I told her. She looked confused, tried to put the parking break down, but didn't know how to do it. Yeah, I think we know what her problem was. I then showed her how to use the parking break, told her she should be okay, and off she went. I then thought about how she must have drove all the way to work with her parking break on.

You know, I used to get Starbucks coffee a lot, to the point that it became just another drink that I needed to get at least once a week. Was I addicted? Maybe I was, but it sure got awfully expensive keeping that habit. Last year, I decided to give up on Starbucks, and I would avoid it as much as possible. I thought that it wouldn't be possible, but I've done a really good job minimizing on going there. Very recently, I decided to go to Starbucks since it was next door to the Best Buy I was at. At that point, it's been almost half a year since I've gone in there. Man, were there a lot of people there, and mostly teenagers / college kids. Which goes with my next point, are people really going to Starbucks for the coffee, or are they going there because it's the "cool" thing to do? You know, the social scene to be at. I suppose it's okay if people want to hang out at Starbucks and all, but still... it's almost like brainwashing for people to practically "need" to get Starbucks. Maybe it is owned by Dr.Evil afterall.

The next step for wedding preparations have begun, gift registration for Macy's and Target. We were going around the stores with the barcode scanner, and it was a little surreal actually. Just going around adding pretty much anything we wanted to the wish list, made us feel like we won some kind of shopping spree. We didn't go *that* all out though, so we didn't add anything we thought would be unfairly expensive. Not completely done with the list at this point, but we hope to have it done by the end of the month.
