I just got off my graveyard work shift and am about to do something that I thought I wouldn't do anymore. Stand in line for a video game. I'm going to be heading to Best Buy in a couple of minutes, to try my luck in getting "Rock Band." I don't know if waiting in line three hours before store opening is even necessary to get the game, or maybe I should have already been in line six hours ago. Who knows, but I'm going for it. The last time I stood in line for something like this was way back in 1999, when the Sega Dreamcast was first released. That proved to be worth it, so I'm hoping for the same results with Rock Band.

I was able to get the game, as me and my friend were the first ones in line. Ended up playing it for a couple of hours, and the game is oh so fun fun fun. I had to practically force myself to finally go to sleep since I'm still working tonight. As I'm typing this, I need to leave for work in two hours and I just woke up, after a little over four hours of sleep.

You know what, despite the inevitable lack of new episodes of my favorite TV shows because of the writer's strike, there's a positive thing to come out from this for me. I've been complaining that I don't get to do everything that I want to do, and cutting down on watching TV is definitely going to help. I've actually started doing that already, and have been sort off "stock piling" the TV shows that I do watch in my DVR. I figured I'll be able to find the time to watch them eventually, so I don't have to worry about needing to watch it sooner than later. This is also another reason why I've been able to get into video gaming a lot lately. The next thing I'm probably going to tackle is to start watching more of the DVDs that I haven't even seen yet.

I've had a huge resurgence of my video gaming interests these past months, thanks primarily to Halo, Guitar Hero, and Virtua Fighter. I actually spent another marathon session yesterday, to the point that I did not even go to sleep. Humorously, my xbox 360 actually has "it's own blog" at 360voice.com. I've been looking at it recently, and it's kinda funny in a very geeky way.

Where did November go by? I feel like the month has just started and now we are looming over Christmas already. Man this month went by fast, and it's probably due to the fact that my days are going by so quick from having too many things to do. I swear I think I mentioned this before, but I envy people who say they are bored. I have way too many interests, hobbies, to-do lists, my wife, plus the job I have to go to, that I can't possibly complain that I'm bored. If I had some fantasy power to have right now, it's to have control of time. I would stop time, and do everything I need to do, finish everything up, restart time and just relax. Yeah, just relax.

I've finally learned after years of years of "needing" to buy must have
video games, that I have the option to wait. When it came to the point when I
have more than 20 games in my game collection that I haven't even
touched, it was time to slow down on the gotta have it now mentality.
I've learned that the amount of games that I actually do play
constantly after purchase is far fewer than I expected.

I'm actually holding off on getting big name titles like Call of Duty 4, the Orange Box,
Super Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect, and Assassin's Creed, because I'm honestly
satisfied spending gaming time on Halo 3, Virtua Fighter 5, Naruto :
ROAN, and Guitar Hero III. The only game coming up that I really really
want to get at launch release is Rock Band, and I didn't even have the
foresight to preorder that, considering that quantities are suppose to be really limited.

A friend asked my wife and I to help her in a video project that she wanted to do for the internet. She's a vegan, so it was on having Thanksgiving without needing to eat a Turkey. Being somebody who has directed / writen / edited video projects before, it was a little hard for me to be more hands off in the process than I normally would if I was doing it. I have to admit that I would have done things a lot differently, but what can I really do, I was just there to be an actor for the piece. That's another thing too, I'm more of a "behind the camera" kind of person, but they needed me to be on screen, so I actually had to be an actor, which is uncommon for me to do. The video project went by pretty well though, and I look forward to how the final project will turn out. I also got to meet her actor / actress friends, and it isn't often I'm surrounded by "Hollywood peeps" if you know what I mean. Ofcourse some of them were a lot more photogenic than I was, but that's to be expected I guess. The whole experience kind of shown me a life that I could have lived, if I pursued a career in film making. For that I really appreciate the opportunity to be part of the video project.
