  • - Racial stereotypes in Transformers? So apparently there are people up in arms over two robots in the movie that are suppose to sound and look “too black,” if you get what I mean. I’m hearing this mostly from the media, because I haven’t heard much from regular movie goers, as to how offensive the depiction really was. “Another Jar-Jar Binks” is what they are calling it. Is this just the media sensationalizing a possible political correctness issue, or is there actual cause to the complaints? I personally haven’t seen the movie yet, so my opinion will have to remain in check for now. All I got to say now though, is that you don’t normally get this much publicity from the media on political correctness when there are Asian stereotypes in popular media. I’m just saying…

    - That reminds me, I brought this subject up on my facebook, and since I’m on the subject of Transformers, I thought I’d post what I said over here on xanga. “It’s weird but I’m actually not THAT excited to see Transformers 2. I should see it on the first day, but I’m actually waiting for Saturday.” Now if you know me (even if it’s just from my blogs), you figured that I would have seen this big genre movie on it’s first day of release (yesterday Wednesday). But I didn’t. Weeks ago I would tell you straight on that I am excited to see the movie on the first day of it’s release. But I still didn’t go. It’s not because of the critics saying how bad the movie is either, because I AM aware that it’s a Michael Bay film, so my expectations are already lowered (enjoyed the first one). A response from my friend probably made the most sense though… “Possibly you have a lack of motivation because the current iteration only shares a small thread with the original 80′s version. I was excited to see the original, but when all the characters changed, and there wasn’t a strong correlation between the two universes, my excitement diminished.” Yeah, I can totally see that being a huge factor to my deflated interest in the movie. Not even Megan Fox was enough to get me to see the movie on it’s first day, what with it’s record breaking $60.6 Million opening day gross.

    - Speaking of Megan Fox, with her emerging back in the spotlight because of the movie, I’m starting to once again hear the conversation topic as to “WHY” a lot of people think she is hot. Really people? I admit that she isn’t necessarily everybody’s type, but still you can’t deny why a lot of people find her attractive. c’mon now

    - Being that this has turned into a Transformers movie related blog post, here’s a link that’s pretty cool…
    http://www.weareautobots.com
It uses your webcam and overlays Optimus Prime’s head on your face. The funny thing is that as long as what it’s looking at looks like the profile of a human face, then it will still work. Like so below…

I went a little crazy and tried it on different things, and you can check them out in this link…

oh, and check out this video of KROQ’s Dave the King of Mexico at the movie’s premiere..
