    - Scammers pretend to be fraud investigation agents for Visa and MasterCard in order to obtain credit card security codes

This isn't something that's brand new, but if you didn't know about this credit card scam... well you should. This is one of the perfect scams out there to take advantage of the fact that nowadays people are more vigilant about protecting themselves against credit card fraud, and will likely fall for this trap. Just remember this simple rule when dealing with credit card information over the phone, the credit card company should not be asking about any numbers on your card as they should already know that information. It also pays to call the credit card company first, and not have them call you. Also have access to check your account transactions via the credit card's website.
