After seeing this week’s episode of the Simpsons, I’ve gotta ask now.
Is the Simpsons still relevant to people?
I remember years ago when people would talk about the most recent
episode of the Simpsons, or start saying quotable lines from the
show. Today, you don’t hear that as much. The sad truth is that
while the show is still entertaining in it’s own right, the last
seasons haven’t been as memorable as it used to be.It’s probably due to the fact that the writing staff changes, or that
there is too much push to have celebrities in the show, or that
anything significant in the show is forgotten by the next one, or maybe
creator Matt Groening isn’t putting his all anymore to the show because
Fox cancelled Futurama,
or maybe they just don’t know what to do anymore. It’s like everything
is on auto-pilot and the staff is just coasting along. I suppose it
doesn’t help that there’s also some serious competition from South Park, Family Guy, and the Adult Swim shows, that has won over a lot of people.The fact that this has happened to the Simpsons is kinda sad
actually. Maybe they should have ended it’s run when it was in
it’s prime afterall.
